Before the clean.
Read the inventory & any checklist supplied by your landlord or agent. Identify the rooms, surfaces & appliances that need attention, then discuss them when arranging your quotation. Mention the moving date, handover deadline & entry arrangements.
- Explain whether the property will be empty or furnished.
- Say what belongings will remain & when they will be moved.
- Ask which agreed areas should be made accessible before the visit.
- Confirm the tasks, equipment arrangements & access with the cleaning team.
Kitchen: check the details.
Review worktops, sink, splashbacks & flooring. Check cupboards & appliances against the inventory, including whether interiors or exteriors need attention. Raise these points before booking so suitability & scope can be assessed.
Do not assume oven interiors, every appliance or specialist work is included in a general clean. Ask for the quotation to make the agreed tasks clear.
Bathrooms: review fixtures & surfaces.
Look at the basin, bath, shower, toilet, mirrors, tiling & floor. Note visible build-up or marks you want discussed. Tell us about any particular materials or instructions so the work can be assessed for the property.
The agreed scope should identify the areas to clean. Existing condition or wear should not be confused with a cleaning task.
Living areas & bedrooms: make the work accessible.
Review accessible surfaces, sills, skirtings & flooring against the checklist. Identify furniture or belongings that will affect access & discuss these before the visit. Mention any additional details requested in the inventory rather than assuming they are included.
Check the rooms you want covered, including any shared areas. If requirements change as you move belongings, speak to us so the work can be discussed.
Carpets & upholstery need a separate assessment.
Describe the carpeted rooms or furniture, material if known & any marks. Carpet & upholstery cleaning is assessed & quoted separately where required. Confirm the additional work before booking rather than treating it as part of every tenancy clean.
The final check & key handover.
Compare the agreed work with the inventory or agent checklist & raise any questions. Confirm how keys will be handled & when the property needs to be ready. Keep the quotation available so everyone can refer to the same scope.
A cleaning service cannot guarantee that a deposit will be returned. The landlord or agent decides the handover or deposit outcome separately. This guide helps you prepare the clean; it does not replace their requirements.
